Chris Self is an attorney in private practice based in Houston, Texas. He began his legal career in the Texas Defender Service’s Capital Trial Project working on trial-level death penalty litigation.

In both his private practice and as the Director of the Thurgood Marshall School of Law Juvenile Lifers Externship Program, Chris has focused much of his practice on advocating for and securing the release of people who received extreme prison sentences for serious charges, including capital murder and murder.
